R-1 ONE -FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO R-2 ONE-F&aLY RESIDENCE DISTRICT. U EREAS, the Zoning Map which is part of Ordinance No. 2325-1968 desig- nates and describes as R-1 One-Fardl.y Residence District the following described property located East of Union Pike, in the City of Richmond, Indiana, more particularly described as follows: This portion to be rezoned to M-2: The north half of the Scuthc.rest Quarter of Section Twenty (20), Township Fourteen (14), Range One (1) West, containing Eighty (80) acres, mre, or less. This portion to be rezoned to R-2: Part of the west end of the north half of the south- east quarter of Section Twenty (20), Township Fourteen (14), Range One (1) west, and bounded as follows, to - wit: Beginning at the nortImmst corner of said quarter section; thence south on said quarter section line Eighty (80) rods; thence east Sixty -Four (64) rods or far enough to make Thirty-trAv (32) acres; thence north Eighty (80) rods to the quarter section line; thence west on said line to the place of beginning, said tract of land to contain Thirty-t;,o (32) acres. 1W92FAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning classi- fication on the above described area from R-1 One -Family Residence District to M-2 General Industrial District, and from R-1 One - Family Residence District to R 2 One -Family District; and., WHEREAS, a study of this Qrdinance was conducted by Rictxnond City Plan Canmission the '�' day of 1979, at which time reoa�s were heard ran all parties interested in or affected by this Ordinance. BE IT ORDAINED by the Cannon Council of the City of P,ichrond, Indiana, as follows: SECTION 1. It is hereby ordained that the zoning classification of the above described property be, and the same is hereby changed to M-2 General Industrial District and R-2 One -Family District, and that said property be regulated in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of RicIriond, Indiana, and all anendments thereto. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as by law required. Kenneth Paust, President Members of Common .Council and Mrs. JoEllen Trimble, City Cleric Municipal Building Richmond, Indiana 47374 Re: Ordinance No.. 6-1979 Plan Commission Case PC-79-4 Dear Mr. Paust, Members of Common Council & Mrs, Trimble: The Richmond City Planning Commission, by Ordinance No. 6-1979, was requesting the rezoning of property located east of Union Pike; a portion to be .rezoned from R-1 One -Family Residence District to. M-2 General Industrial District, and a portion to be rezoned from R-1 One -Family Residence District to R-2 One -Family Residence Dis- trict. Public hearings were held on January 23, February 27, and March 27,, 1979. This property was annexed in July of 1978 through Ordinance No. 38-1978. Any newly annexed territory comes into the City as R-1 as a temporary zoning classification, and the Plan Commission then has six months'to study the area and recommend a permanent zoning classification. Fifteen (15) letters had been sent to adjoining properties; one (1) was received in favor and zero (0) in opposition to this request. The Plan Commission voted nine (9) ayes and zero (0) nayes in favor of this rezoning. Commissioners Hunter and Welch were ab- sent. Respectfully submitted, CITY PLAN COMMISSION Robert B.
