ORDINANCE NO. 1993- 5
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PETITION OF INDIANA ASBURY
TOWERS UNITED METHODIST HOME, INC. TO VACATE A CERTAIN
PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE
WHEREAS, the Common Council For The City of Greencastle,
Indiana, did at its regularly scheduled meeting held on June 8,
1993, receive the petition of Indiana Asbury Towers United
Methodist Home, Inc. to vacate a certain portion of public right -
of -way in the City of Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council For The City of Greencastle,
Indiana, has pursuant to law, published notice of the fact that
this matter would come on for public hearing at the regularly
scheduled meeting of the Common Council For The City of
Greencastle, Indiana, to be held on July 13, 1993 at 7:30 P.M. at
the Tzouanakis Elementary School in Greencastle, Indiana; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council For The City of Greencastle,
Indiana, has after said public hearing, determined that the
relief prayed for in said petition should be granted and that the
S portion of public right -of -way located in Greencastle, Indiana,
as petitioned to be vacated by such petitioner should be vacated;
and,
WHEREAS, the vacation of the public right -of -way has been
submitted to the Greencastle Plan Commission and such Plan
Commission has voted unanimously in favor of the vacation of such
public right -of -way, as requested in such petition, and issued a
recommendation to the Common Council For The City of Greencastle,
Indiana, approving such vacation; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner is the owner of all adjoining land
affected by such vacation and that no other persons are alleged
'to be adjoining landowners and no other persons have been
notified by certified mail; and,
WHEREAS, there have been no objections raised at the public
hearing on this Ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council For The
City of Greencastle, Indiana, that the following public right -of-

way located in Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana, and
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 83 in the original
Plat of the City of Greencastle; thence East 216 feet to the
Southeast corner of Lot 86; thence South 12 feet to the
Northeast corner of Lot 85; thence West 216 feet to the
Northwest corner of Lot 84; thence North 12 feet to the
point of beginning, containing 0.06 acres, more or less.
is hereby.vacated as public right -of -way of the City of
Greencastle, Indiana.
This Ordinance shall have full force and effect of law
immediately upon its passage by the Common Council For The City
of Greencastle, Indiana, and signature of the Mayor.
