AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FA-3 GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Transportation has grant funding available
through its FA-3 Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to assist with
the costs associated with widening Salisbury Road from Northwest "L"
Street to National Road West; and
WHEREAS, a minimum local match of twenty percent in is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the
Indiana Department of Transportation to assist with the costs associated with expanding
Salisbury Road.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount
up to Two Million, Five Hundred Forty -Four Thousand and Eight Hundred dollars
($2,544,800).
3. The City of Richmond will provide a local match of $658,970, which exceeds
the 20% minimum local match requirement by $18,216 and said local match will be
requested from the City of Richmond Redevelopment Commission
4. Said funds from the Indiana Department of Transportation, $2,544,800, and
from the City of Richmond, $658,970, equal a total project amount of $3,203,770, if
awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to assist with the costs associated
with improving Salisbury Road.
