POLICE COMMISSION
Commissioner Michael Nott called the Febnrary 21, 2019 meeting of the Board of Police
Commissioners to order at 6:09 p.m. In attendance were Commissioner Nott, Commissioner
Chapman, Commissioner Gardner, Chief Konopek, and Cindie Blazina.
Public Forum: Citizen's Comments- None.
The minutes of the January 17,2019 meeting were read, and Commissioner Nott moved
the minutes to be approved, Commissioner Chapman seconded the motion. All in favor.
Correspondence- Two invoices were presented to the Commission for approval. The first
being from Stanard and Associates, Inc in the amount of$790.00 for the evaluations done on our
two most recent recruits. The other invoice, from IOS Solutions, in the amount of $2,780.00 was
for the 2019 Oral Interview that were held to update the current Eligibility List the Commission
holds. Both invoices were motioned to be approved.
Old Business- The Chief updated the Commission that the two candidates who are
currently enrolled in the IL State Police Academy are doing well and are currently on track to
Graduate April 18s. The Commissions Eligibility Register has been re-finalized and posted after
holding the second round of Oral Interviews on January l9th. Commissioner Nott will be consulting
with the Commission Attomey to verift how the list will be properly merged with the incoming
candidates who are testing on March 91h,2019 .
New Business- The Commission went on to discuss the futu( of Plainfield's Police
Department in terms of staffrng. The Department currently has 55 Officers staffed and will be
filling spots as retirements come through in the years ahead. In addition to the foreseeable
retirements, they hope to add additional officers as budgets allow. The Department is currently
awaiting results of the Staffing Analyst that was recently done to see where their staffmg will be
headed.
Executive Session- No executive session was held.
There being no frrther business or discussion, Commissioner Nott moved the meeting be
adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
