ORDINANCE NO. 12-1979
AN ORDINANCE A=ING CHAPTER 41, ARTICLE V (SPEED REGULATIONS), SECTION
41.3G (INCREASING STATE SPEED LIMITS IN CERTAIN ZONES).
M-JEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety, on the recommendation of
the Traffic Division of the Richmond Police Department approved the
changing of the present 30 miles per hour speed limit on Williamsburg
Pike to 40 miles per hour beginning at a point approximately 1,050 feet
north of the intersection of Williamsburg Pike and Sheridan Streets and
continuing north to the present 40 miles per hour zone, which is a
distance of approximately 2,120 feet; and beginning at a point approxi-
mately 1,585 feet south of the north City Limits (this section is present-
ly 4C miles per hour) and continuing south for a distance of approximately
3,17C feet.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 41, Article V, Section 41.30 increasing State Speed
Limits in certain zones, of the Kinicipal Code of Richmond, Indiana, be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
3 (a) 40 miles per hour: On Williamsburg Pike beginning at a point
approximately 1,050 feet north of the intersection of Williams-
burg Pike and Sheridan Street and continuing north to the
present 40 miles per hour zone, which is a distance of
approximately 2,120 feet; and beginning at a point approxi-
mately 1,585 feet south of the northern corporate limits of
Richmond and continuing south for a distance of approximately
3,170 feet.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its
passage and approval by the Mayor and publication as by law required.
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
this 66-4 day of February, 1979.
