Residents Requested to Clear Snow
From Around Fire Hydrants
Assistance Needed to Provide Emergency Access
Leesburg, VA (February 8, 2010) – Town of Leesburg officials are requesting that
residents assist with clearing snow from around fire hydrants, if possible.
Town crews will start clearing snow from fire hydrants on Monday, beginning with a
strategic number of hydrant locations throughout the Town. There are hundreds of fire
hydrants in Town, and the snow must be cleared by hand to avoid damaging them. The
Town has requested assistance from the Fire Companies and their personnel in this
effort as well.
