Konopek Jr., Chief of Police PRESS RELEASE Release Immediately Press Release #: 19-016 Release Date: 4/5/2019 Case #: 19-4645 Contact: Sergeant Colin Mulacek #119, Plainfield Police Department 815-439-7654 Aggravated Battery Arrest at Plainfield Central High School Plainfield, IL – On Friday, April 5, 2019, at approximately 0954 hours, staff at Plainfield Central High School notified the School Resource Officer of a male fleeing from the building after having battered a staff member. The fleeing male was stopped and detained by Plainfield Police Patrol Units in the area and identified as 18-year-old, Izak Ramos, a resident of Joliet, and graduate of Plainfield Central High School. During the subsequent investigation it was learned Ramos entered the school, and while inside made his way to a gym class, where he battered a student prior to attempting to flee before encountering the staff member. Ramos was arrested and charged with 2 felony counts of aggravated battery, criminal trespass to state supported property, and possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver. Neither battery victim required medical treatment.
