HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-25-2019 COW Minutes /i/côi� Minutes of the Committee of the Whole Workshop of the President and the Board of Trustees Held on March 25, 2019 In the Boardroom Mayor Collins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Board Present: Mayor Collins, Trustee Newton, Trustee O'Rourke, Trustee Wojowski, Trustee Bonuchi, and Trustee Lamb. Board Absent: Trustee Larson. Others present: Brian Murphy, Administrator; Michelle Gibas, Village Clerk; Jon Proulx, Planning Director; Allen Persons, Public Works Director; Ken Goska, Building Official; and John Konopek, Police Chief There were approximately 10 persons in the audience. Trustee Bonuchi moved to approve the Minutes of the Committee of the Whole Workshop held on March 11, 2019. Second by Trustee O'Rourke. Voice Vote. All in favor, 0 opposed. Motion carried. Motion carried. PRESIDENTIAL COMMENTS No Comments. TRUSTEE COMMENTS No Comments. PUBLIC COMMENTS No Comments. WORKSHOP 1) OVERVIEW OF 2020 CENSUS COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM Mr. Jon Proulx reviewed the 2020 Census Community Partnership and Engagement Program. The goal of the program is to work with local partners to engage, educate, and encourage participation in the 2020 Census by those who are less likely to respond and who are known to be hard to count. Mr. Proulx then reviewed the State Complete Count Commissions and Complete Count Committees. Complete Count Committees are organized at the county, municipal, or community level. Mr. Proulx reviewed the objectives of a complete count committee and asked for input from the Board on establishing a Complete Count Committee. Lisa Pappas, Plainfield Public Library, was present in the audience and stated that Plainfield Public Library would be interested in being part of the process. There was some further general discussion regarding establishing a Complete Count Committee. It was the consensus of the Board to have staff work on establishing a committee. Mayor Collins read the reminders. On a motion from Trustee Lamb and second by Trustee O'Rourke, the meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m. �. / - ! ' r Michelle Gibas, Village Clerk
