' cV 'w 'Mr '�.w 4Wr '� S! a11, MP A' VIP' \W Rw7 1 r • If undergrounding is feasible, FPL provides: - non -binding "ballpark" estimate, at no charge - nonrefundable engineering deposit amount • FPL performs detailed engineering and determines CIAC amount (estimate valid for 180 days) Sequence of Events (cont') • Within 180 days of receiving FPL's estimate, Applicant: - Enters into Facilities Conversion Agreement - Pays CIAC amount (Engineering deposit applied towards CIAC) or, estimate expires (in which case FPL retains deposit) • Applicant executes agreements with other utilities (e.g. Telephone, CATV, etc.) for simultaneous conversion of their facilities FPL 6 VW Vw Vw vW VW VW VW VW VW V7 VW VW VW Sequence of Events (cont') • Applicant secures and records all easements (with opinion of title that easements are valid) and permission from property owners to place above grade equipment within their property (due within 180 days of receipt of binding estimate) • Utilities secure permits • FPL installs main underground facilities, coordinating with other utilities as appropriate FPL 7 +f • 'VFW +1 Sequence of Events (cont') • Appointments are scheduled with home/business owners to convert overhead service drops to underground Residential (typical): - Applicant/Customer/Electrician secures required electrical permit, arranges appointment with FPL - Applicant/Customer/Electrician excavates trench, installs FPL conduit from main line to meter can - FPL disconnects and removes service drop & meter Electrician converts meter can (I.e. weatherhead to downpipe) - Electrical Inspector inspects installation - FPL installs/connects buried conductors, and reinstalls meter Applicant/Customer completes restoration FPL 8 Sequence of Events (cont) • Appointments are scheduled with home/business owners to convert overhead service drops to underground Non -Residential (typical): - Applicant/Customer/Electrician secures electrical permit, arranges appointment with FPL - Applicant/Customer/Electrician excavates trench and installs Customer owned conduit from main FPL line to meter can - FPL disconnects and removes service drop & meter - Electrician converts meter can (Le. weatherhead to downpipe) and installs Customer owned cable to FPL designated point - Electrical Inspector inspects installation FPL connects Customer owned conductors, and reinstalls meter - Applicant/Customer completes restoration FPL 9 " After all electric service drops are removed, remaining ' ' ' electrical facilities are removed " Applicant completes all restoration (roadways, sidewalks, driveways, and landscaping - If less than estimate, applicant receives refund - If more than estimate, applicant pays difference (up to 10% of original CIAC amount) FPL
