a. Effective Tax Rate
The public hearing was called to order at 7:31 p.m.
John Wells gave a presentation on the effective tax rate.
Summary of Key Points:
• Public hearing is required by state law to identify the effective tax rate
which takes into account assessment increases/ decreases.
• No action is necessary.
• Public hearing on the budget is scheduled for tomorrow night.
• Budget and tax rate approval is expected at the March 13 meeting.
• Effective tax rate is the same as the current tax rate.
There were no Council Member questions or comments at this time.
There were no members of the public wishing to speak at this public
hearing.
The public hearing was closed at 7:35 p.m.

• Clarification of an equalized tax rate is if you take the same properties
from last year compared to this year, the equalized tax rate is what the tax
rate would need to be to get the same amount of revenue.
3. ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Council Member Martinez, seconded by Vice Mayor Wright, the meeting
was adjourned at 735 p.m.
