Chapman - SECRETARY • James Gardner - MASON PLAINFIELD BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS MINUTES MARCH 21, 2019 Commissioner Michael Nott called the March 21, 2019 meeting of the Board of Police Commissioners to order at 6:08 p.m. In attendance were Commissioner Nott, Commissioner Chapman, Commissioner Gardner, Chief Konopek, Cindie Blazina, and a few students from Plainfield North High School. Public Forum: Citizen's Comments- None. However, Conunissioner Nott took a few minutes to introduce the Board of Police Commissioners and its functions to the students in attendance. The minutes of the February 21, 2019 meeting were read, and Commissioner Nott moved the minutes to be approved, Commissioner Chapman seconded the motion. All in favor. Correspondence- The 2019 IOS Solutions Contract was brought to the table for discussion. Commissioner Nott determined that the price seemed higher than it should be and to table signing off on it until it could be discussed further with IOS directly. Old Business- The Initial Eligibility Register for the 2019 Entry Level Police Officer Testing has been formed based off of the results from the Written Exam held on March 9`h, 2019. Candidates will now have 10 days to submit any applicable preference points to apply to their current scores. Once those points are factored and the list is revised Oral Interviews will then be given on April 27`x', 2019 to the Top 20 Candidates. The Commission discussed alternate ways to hold the interviews in order to be more time efficient. The Commission briefly discussed the upcoming 2019 Sergeant's Exam. Cindie Blazina will work up a mock timeline to present to the Commission for approval at the next meeting. Prior to the testing announcement, the Commission's Rules and Regulations will need to be officially amended to advise that in order to be eligible, all Officer's must have five years of experience, and at least three of those years with the Plainfield Police Department. However, Commissioner Nott explained to the public that the Executive session is an audio recorded session that is held without audience, and used to discuss classified information.
