Downtown Snow Removal Scheduled to Begin
at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010
Drivers Should Expect Delays Throughout
Downtown Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Leesburg, VA (February 11, 2010) – Town crews will begin removing snow from
downtown streets at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010. Town officials expect the
snow removal process to take three days, continuing through Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday, snow removal will begin on North King Street at Cornwall Street and proceed
south to Loudoun Street. West Market Street will be cleared next, starting at Wirt Street
and proceeding east to King Street. Snow will be removed from both sides of the
streets. Crews will close each block during removal and reopen when completed.
On Saturday and Sunday, crews will complete clearing Market Street from King to
Church Streets and will clear Loudoun Street from Wirt to Church.
Snow removal will take several hours per block. Drivers’ patience and cooperation with
crew directions will help expedite the snow removal process.
