RESOLUTION CONFIRMING A WRITTEN ORDER
FOR REMOVAL
OF PAULA MCINTOSH AS CLERK/TREASURER
WHEREAS, the Riverdale City Council moved to remove Paula McIntosh as Clerk/ Treasurer on February 6,
2017;
WHEREAS,pursuant to Iowa Code §372.15, an order of removal was signed by the Mayor Pro Tern;
WHEREAS,the written order for removal was mailed by certified mail to Paula McIntosh;
WHEREAS, this written order outlines the reasons for the decision to remove Ms. McIntosh from her role as
Clerk/Treasurer;
WHEREAS, the decision to remove was based upon inattention to detail, lack of effective communication, and
cooperation with City Officials as learned in the recent audit conducted by the Iowa State Auditor coupled with the prior
Final Warning dated September 28, 2016;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Iowa Code §372.15 Ms. McIntosh was provided an opportunity to request a hearing
before the City Council within thirty(30)days of the written order; and
WHEREAS,the attorney for Ms. McIntosh requested such a hearing;
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on March 7, 2017 wherein Ms. McIntosh had the opportunity to present
evidence or reasons regarding her removal;
WHEREAS,after the hearing the City Council of the City of Riverdale believes it to be in the best interest of the
City to confirm the written Order for Removal of Ms. McIntosh as Clerk/Treasurer.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa that the written
Order for Removal of Paula McIntosh as Clerk/Treasurer is hereby confirmed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that City staff is hereby directed to give public notice of the
opening of the position of Clerk/Treasurer and to solicit applications from those interested.

FOR REMOVAL
