RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS 302 AND 303 TO 300
AND HIRING FIRM TO MAKE ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE CHANGES
WHEREAS, during the Fiscal year 2016 financial audit by the State of Iowa a"Uniform Chart of
Accounts for Iowa City Governments" (updated July 8, 2015) was given to the Mayor ;
WHEREAS,the Auditor suggested it would be considered"Best Practices" for the City of
Riverdale to update their accounting software to reflect the States Uniform Chart of Accounts;
WHEREAS, account titles have been unclear during budget meetings and the Council and Clerks
need to be able to understand the fund activity names;
WHEREAS, Fund 302 and 303 (67.5 levy) would be considered fund 300 in Iowa's Uniform
Chart of Accounts;
WHEREAS, having items in the correct accounts will allow the City to utilize the software to a
greater degree and cut down on mistakes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa
authorizes the hiring of Data Technologies, Inc. for up to one full day to come in and make the
changes to the City Accounting Software to reflect Iowa's Uniform Chart of Accounts, to make
fund activities clear, and Council Authorizes the transfer and combing of all of the Funds 302
and 303 to Fund 300.
This Resolution shall take immediate effect.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED THIS 7th day of March, 2017.
