MEDINA LOCAL BOARD OF REVIEW MEETING MINUTES OF APRIL 9, 1997
The Local Board of Review of the City of Medina, Minnesota met Wednesday, April 9,
1997, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers for the purpose of reviewing and
correcting the assessment of the City for the year 1996. Mayor John Ferris presided.
Members present: John Ferris, John Hamilton, Jim Johnson, and Ann Thies.
Members absent: Phil Zietlow.
Also present: City Assessors Rolf Erickson and Dave Wilde, Hennepin County
Assessor Chris Bennett, and City Clerk -Treasurer Paul Robinson.
1. Doug Dickerson, 2625 Pioneer Trail
Doug Dickerson wrote a letter to the Board appealing his assessment. The assessed
value of his house was $168,000 for 1997. He requested that it be lowered to
$153, 000.
No action was taken.
2. Mike Homberger, 2982 Ardmore
Mike Homberger said his home values went up $ 6,000 from $81,000 to $86,000. He
said that the house had no foundation and no central heating. There was some
additional discussion about other structural problems with the house. Homberger said
that when they tried to sell the house they could not even get $ 70,000.
Rolf Erickson said that the lot was very small.
Moved by John Ferris, seconded by Ann Thies, to lower the valuation of 2982 Ardmore
back to $ 81,000. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Adjourn
Moved by John Hamilton, seconded by Ann Thies, to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 p.m..
Motion passed unanimously.
