HomeMy Public PortalAbout035-1979 - STRICKEN- REZONING - 1851 SOUTHWEST A STREETGENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 35-1979 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 22 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, BEING ORDINANCE NO. 2325-1968, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, ADOPTED JUNE 3, 1968, PROVIDING FOR THE REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1851 SOUTHWEST "A" STREET FROM R-2 ONE -FAMILY RESI- DENCE DISTRICT TO R-3 ONE -TO -EIGHT FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the Zoning Map which is a part of Ordinance No. 2325-1968 de- signates and describes as R-2 One -Family Residence District the following described property known as 1851 Southwest "A" Street in the City of Richmond, Indiana, more particularly described .as follows: Being a part of the Northeast Quarter of Fractional Section 1, Township 13 North, Range 2 West in the City of Richmond, Indiana, and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at an iron pipe at the northwest corner of Lot Number 9 in Benham Addition to said City of Richmond, Indiana, said point also being on the east line of Southwest 19th Street, and running thence from said beginning point, north, along the east line of said Southwest 19th Street, 216.00. feet to an iron pipe on the intersection of said east line with the South line of Southwest "A" Street; thence east, along said South line, 150.00 feet to an iron pipe on the west line of a twenty (20) feet wide public alley; thence south along the west line of said alley, 216.00 feet to an iron pipe at the northeast corner of said Lot 9; thence west along the north line of said Lot, 150.00 feet to the place of beginning. WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning classi- fication on the above described area from R-2 One -Family Residence District to R-3 One -to -Eight Family Residence District; and, WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the Rlehmond City Plan Commission the day of , 1979, at which time remonstrances were heard from all parties interested in or affected by this Ordinance. WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was to in favor of/in opposition to recommending the passage of Ordinance No. 35-1979. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: SECTION 1. It is hereby ordained that the zoning classification of the above described property be, and the same is hereby changed to R-3 One -to -Eight Family Residence District, and that said pro- perty be regulated in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana, all amendments thereto. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as by law required. Therefore, the Plan Carmission, at their meeting of May 22, 1979, voted nine (9) to zero (0) to recomnend that Ordinance No. 35-1979 be stricken.
