ROLL CALL AND CALL TO ORDER Chair Faurot called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Committee members, Scotty Davenport, Bill Murphy, Neil Thompson, Mike Lenzi, and Todd Sholty, were present. Kris Sal Dana, Terry Lewis was not present. Chair declared a quorum. Also present were Director Peckham and City Grant writer Carol Coyle. II. NEW BUSINESS Coyle gave an introduction into her job and how she can help the Recreation Department. Coyle noted grants for docks and a $1,000 grant received for cross-country equipment. Peckham handed out the recreation budget for 2001-02 and asked for any suggestions on how to spend the money i.e. new equipment, new programs. Discussion on a recreation district and whether or not to pursue the idea. Chair Faurot directed Director Peckham to pursue the idea and try to get numbers on the amount of households affected. Davenport suggested the district follow the McCall -Donnelly school district boundaries. Everyone present thought this was a good start. Director Peckham gave an update on winter activities — ice rink, cross- country trails and programs with the Arts and Humanities organisation. Chair Faurot suggested and the committee agreed to wait on the Recreation Master Plan until the new director was hired. IV. NEXT MEETING The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 8, 6:30pm at City Hall. V. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 7:30pm.
