RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER
ABBOTT CONTRACTING COMPANY
WHEREAS, on April 18, 1996, by Resolution #96-116, the Mayor and Council of
the Borough of Carteret approved a contract to Abbott Contracting Co., Inc. in the
amount of $573,447.66.; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution #97-137 the Borough Engineer advised the Governing
Body that a change in roofing materials resulted in a reduction in the contract price
of $25,700.; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has subsequently determined that the amount
included in Resolution #97-137 was erroneous; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has informed the Governing Body that the
proper amount or reduction should have been $22,800.; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has previously certified that the substitution of
roofing materials were unforeseen at the time the original contract was awarded;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Resolution #97-137 is hereby
rescinded and that the sum of $22,800.00 is hereby reduced from the original contract
price.
Adopted this 1st day of May, 1997 and
certified as a true copy of the original
on May 2nd, 1997.
