ProJet Aviation Announces New Fixed-Base
Operation at Leesburg Executive Airport
New Facility Offers Fuel Sales and Hangar Space to
Corporate Aircraft in the Washington DC Metro Area
Leesburg, VA (February 16, 2010) – ProJet Aviation, a Metro-DC area aircraft
management and air charter company, has opened a new corporate aviation facility at
Leesburg Executive Airport (JYO). The facility features over 25,000 square feet of
hangar and office space, and fuel services for corporate aircraft. The Leesburg
expansion will complement ProJet’s existing flight operations in Winchester and
Manassas.
“We are pleased to announce our expansion in the Dulles marketplace, with Leesburg
as our newest community partner,” said Shye Gilad, President of ProJet Aviation. “With
this new location, ProJet can offer competitive hangar and fuel rates, and convenient
access to Northern Virginia and Washington, DC.”
Leesburg Executive Airport has direct access off the Dulles Greenway toll road (VA
Route 267) and an aggressive growth plan that includes a runway extension and
additional hangars. Installation of an Instrument Landing System (ILS) is underway.
ProJet will base four aircraft at Leesburg, two of which are owned by Sheila Johnson’s
companies. The other two aircraft are available for charter. Leesburg-based aircraft will
include a long-range Gulfstream G-IV Jet and the efficient Piaggio Avanti II turboprop.
The G-IV will be the largest aircraft based at Leesburg.

alternative to Dulles: fuel and hangar space is at a fraction of the cost, and we incur no
landing or ramp fees, further contributing to our bottom line. Despite an extra eight
minutes to travel to the Leesburg airport versus Dulles, with a greatly reduced taxi time
at Leesburg, we can be in the air quicker, saving us both time and money.”
