WHEREAS,in recognition of Commissioner Timothy Holmes's numerous contributions to the City of Opa-locka("City"),it is proposed that Oriental Boulevard from NW 17th Avenue to NW 37th Avenue be dual-designated as "The Honorable Timothy Holmes Boulevard"; and WHEREAS, after hearing public comments on the matter, the City Commission has considered the recommendation to dual-designate Oriental Boulevard from NW 17th Avenue to NW 37th Avenue as "The Honorable Timothy Holmes Boulevard" and WHEREAS,Commissioner Holmes has been a City Commissioner since November 1994. THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA HEREBY ORDAINS: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby approves the dual- designation of NW 17th Avenue to NW 37th Avenue as "The Honorable Timothy Holmes Boulevard" and directs the City Manager to take all necessary actions to carry-out the intent and objectives of this Ordinance. Section 3. All ordinances or Code provisions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Ordinance No. 0 9-12 Section 4. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. Section 5. This Ordinance shall, upon adoption, become effective as specified by the City of Opa-locka Code of Ordinances and the City of Opa-locka Charter.
