MINUTES- April 23, 2002
I. ROLL CALL AND CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM. Committee members, Dave Faurot,
Chairperson,
Bill Murphy, Neil Thompson and Scotty Davenport. Todd Sholty, Mike Lenzi,
was absent. Bob Peckham, Recreation Director and Robert Strope, City Manager,
Billy Walker and Patrick Hill were also present.
II. NEW BUSINESS
Robert Strope addressed questions and views by the Recreation Committee. He
addressed the idea of combining the Recreation Director position with the
Athletic Director's position. Strope said there would be better scheduling and
potential savings to the city. The committee's concerns were: to short a time
frame to make a decision, not enough information to make an informed decision.
Davenport made a motion to table the idea and hire a full-time recreation
director and later visit the idea. The motion carried unanimously.
Davenport made a motion to elect Patrick Hill as the new Recreation
advisory Member to replace Kris Sal Dana. The motion carried
unanimously.
Peckham gave an update on the skate park, programs and fish pens.
II I. NEXT MEETING
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,May 28th at 7:00 PM at the City of
McCall Conference Room.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM
