PROFESSIONAL SERVICE GONTRACT AMENE~*~
FOR LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution ~96-338, the Borough of Carteret entered
into a contract with Robert Hedesh, Esq. to provide legal services on be-
half of the Borough of Carteret, in the matter titled MAN~.~A v. CARTERET;
and
WHEREAS, the ~ amo~mt of fees authorized under said resolution have
been expended; and
~EA$, the legal services contract needs to be amended to increase the
amount of fees authorized to be expended; and
WHEREAS, legal services are a professional service exempt from the require-
ments of competitive bidding pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5 (1) (a); and
WHEREAS, the Local Finance Officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Mayor and Coencil
of the Borough of Carteret does hereby approve ,th% contract Amendment in
an ~noant of $6,351.25 (Six Thousand Three Hunoze Fifty-One Dollars and
Twenty-Five Cents).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Municipal Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute the amenclnent to the contract.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5(1) (a), due to the specialized
and professional natare of the services provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a notice of this 'action shall be published in
The Home News And Tribune on Tuesday, May 6, 1997.
