A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY REQUEST-
ING THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL
TO PROVIDE CROSSING GUARDS
WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised and it finds that
it is necessary and desirable that adequate protection be provided for
public school pupils who are required to cross heavily traveled streets,
highways, and roadways in the incorporated City of Temple City, County
of Los Angeles, State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised, and it finds that
it is necessary and desirable to provide such protection by means of
crossing guards at such locations in the City of Temple City, County of
Los Angeles, State of California, as may be designated by the City
Council; •
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Temple City, County of Los Angeles, State of California, in regular
session assembled this 22nd day of August, 1960, that this Council does
hereby request the Department of California Highway Patrol of the State
of California to provide the services of crossing guards for the 1961 -62
fiscal year at such locations as may be designated by the Council of the
City of Temple City, County of Los Angeles, State of California, so that
adequate protection may be afforded to public school pupils who are re-
quired to cross the said streets, highways and roadways which are heavil
traveled and which are located in the City of Temple City, County of Los
Angeles, State of California; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Temple City, County of Los Angeles, State of California, be authorized
to pay quarterly to the Department of California Highway Patrol a sum
equal to the sum expended by the Department of California Highway Patrol
for salaries and wages of crossing guards employed by the Department of
California Highway Patrol pursuant to this resolution, the amount equal
to 161% of said salaries and wages for general administrative expenses
of the Department of California Highway Patrol, the employer's share of
retirement contributions, if any, at the rate of 8.20% of said salaries
and wages, and the sum of $2.50 per member per year when applicable for
the administration costs of the State Employees Retirement System; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the locations at which the Department
of California Highway Patrol is requested to provide the services of
such crossing guards and relief guards are as follows:
