ROLL CALL AND CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM. Committee members, Neal Thompson, Mike Lenzi, and Todd Sholty were absent. Patrick Hill, Bill Murphy, Scotty Davenport and Dave Faurot were present. Brock Heasley, Recreation Director was also present. II. INTRODUCTION OF GUEST No Guest were present III. NEW BUSINESS Skate Park grant application Discussed how we will be presenting to the Land and Water Committee on March 20th in Boise. Myself, Cindy Crawford and Holly Thrash will be presenting. We should find out in April if we will receive funding. Sponsors- Skate park/softball/baseball Informed the committee that I am currently looking for more sponsors for these programs. Scotty Davenport gave me two more sponsors. After School Program The new program will be starting March 31st. So far signup are going fine. We have started a new fee that lets kids attend the program two or less days a week. This will give another option for families. Winter Special Olympics Working with the Special Olympics for the next three years for the winter Special Olympics being held at Ponderosa and Brundage. On Saturday March 15, I will the MC for the closing ceremonies. Informed the Committee that it would be nice to have anyone attend or help out. Bike Path Committee The Committee Chair wanted me to contact the Bike Path Committee and see where they are at and where they are going in the future. I have contacted and attended their first meeting. I am going to work closes with this group and help them gain momentum. Youth Softball/Baseball Sign-ups will begin next month. I am looking forward to running these programs for the youth in our community. Cross Country Ski Trips are on schedule. We have lent out our cross country ski equipment to three schools thus far and have two more schools to go. So far we have given 80 children the opportunity to experience cross country skiing at Ponderosa State Park. Without the help of Ponderosa State Park, the teachers and our equipment this would not be possible. I have attended two of the outings and have been happy with the smiling faces and enthusiasm of the children. Big Air Contest Will be helping on April 12th with the big air contest. This will be run to raise money for the McCall Skate park. Improvements at Fairway As soon as the weather clears we look forward to improving Fairway Park. We will be adding roofs to our dugouts, increasing the outfield fence to 6' high and redoing the backstop on Field A. IV OLD BUSINESS Intern — February 14th We have tentatively hired our new intern for the summer. She will be starting in mid May. Cross Country Ski Trips Cross Country Ski Trips are on schedule.
