Consideration was given as to whether Mr. George W. walker could be appointed Honorary Polio* Coodasioner of Hal Harbour Village. After discussion upon motion of Mr. :Grabma, Jr.,, seconded by Kre Whittaker, it was unanimously. passed "tliat the offie*;of Honorary Police Commissioner'be created and thereafter Mr. George Vl Walker via elected to the office of Houoiary Police Commissioner. of B" Harbour Village to serve for the bal"ce of the avrient oalendar Tear. .There being no further business before the sooting -upon motion of Mr. Beans ,:seconded by. Mr. Siroas,'the meting adjoprhede At at$ M lark JDAE 6$ 1949 The regular seating of the council of.Bai Harbour Village was , called to order at 8:05 P. M. by Major J. Julian Soutberiand. Also present weret Messrs. Bounesu, sad Whittaker Mr. W. H. Webb, Village Manager was also present. The minutes of the meeting of April 11, 19x49 were read,si4 approved. Mr. Webb informed the council that the Miami Beach Railway ' Company . was anxious to obtain a "Franchise" from Bal Harbour Village for the operation of busses on the village streets. The council discussed the proposed Bus Franchise Ordinance requested by :the. railway company and it was decided to postpone further action until all five of the councilmen were present. FF WONS CARRIED ON AND:ENGAGED IN'WITHIN SAID VILLAGE AND PRESC9!BING PENALTIES FOR .THE EXERCISING OF SUCH PRIVILEGES OR CARRYING ON SUCH BUSINESSES, OCCUPATIONS, OR,Y90FESSIONS, WITHOUT A 110ENS'E'OA OTHER FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS' THEREOF'." Mr. Webb oalled the council's attention to the appointment�of Mr. Fred Z*welle as Village Engineer without salary, and it, was > suggested that he be placed on the village payroll at $1.00 per year. Upon notion of Mr. Whittaker, seconded by :Xr: Bonne* -d it was unanimously voted that the salary of the village engineer be fixed at J2.00 per year, and, that Mr. Zurwelle's name be placed upon: the village payroll at that salary. There being no further business, on motion duly made, secAded and carried the meeting adjourned at 9Y00 o'clock P. M.
