A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A COMPLETE COUNT COMMITTEE IN
THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD TO PROMOTE PARTICIPATION IN THE
2020 CENSUS TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE U.S. CENSUS BUREAU
WHEREAS, the U.S. Census Bureau will be conducting a nationwide census in April
2020; and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Census Bureau intends to count every person in the United States,
count each person only once, and count each person in the correct location; and
WHEREAS, the population information collected via the census is used for such
important purposes as allocating approximately $675 billion annually in federal funds
and in reapportioning representatives in the U.S. House of Representatives; and.
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the public health, safety and general welfare of the
residents of the Village of Plainfield to achieve full participation in the 2020 Census.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Plainfield, in Will and
Kendall Counties, Illinois, does hereby establish an ad hoc committee known as the
Village of Plainfield Complete Count Committee; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that members will be appointed to the Complete Count
Committee by the Village President and participation shall be invited from such
organizations as municipal government, library, public school district, faith communities,
business organizations, charitable and non-profit organizations, and heath care; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Complete Count Committee shall be charged
with the mission of promoting full participation in the 2020 Census, including
implementing the strategies recommended by the U.S. Census Bureau; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village of Plainfield Complete Count Committee
shall sunset with conclusion of activities related to supporting the 2020 Census.
