® Special Session
January 6, 1992
The Greencastle Common Council met in special session on Monday, January 6,
1992 at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall. On call of the roll the following members were shown to
be present: Councilor Thomas Roach, Councilor Jerald Culbert, Councilor Susan
Murray, Councilor Charles Miles. Councilor Michael Rokicki was absent. Also present
was city attorney Larry Wilson.
Mayor Harmless indicated that he and the city attorney are researching the
process of appointments to the Cable Access Channel Board. Presently all appointments
are made by the Mayor.
In regard to organization Councilor Calbert moved to nominate Councilor
Rokicki for president of the council. This motion was lost due to lack of a second.
Councilor Miles then moved to nominate Councilor Murray for president of the council.
This motion was seconded by Councilor Roach. Councilor Calbert moved the
nominations be closed. This motion was seconded by Councilor Roach and was carried
by an aye unanimous vote of members present. The previous motion concerning the
nomination of Councilor Murray as president was carried by an aye unanimous vote of
members present. Councilor Murray accepted the office.
In regard to the council appointment to the Greencastle Development Center
Board Councilor Roach moved to nominate Councilor Rokicki. This motion was
seconded by Councilor Miles. Councilor Murray moved to close the nominations. This
motion was seconded by Councilor Calbert and was carried by an aye unanimous vote
of members present_ The previous motion concerning the nomination of Councilor
Rokicki as CDC appointment was carried by an aye unanimous vote of members
present.
In regard to the council appointment to the City Plan Commission Councilor
Murray moved to nominate Councilor Roach. This motion was seconded by Councilor
Calbert. Councilor Calbert then moved to close the nominations. This motion was
seconded by Councilor Murray and was carried by an aye unanimous vote of members
present. The previous motion concerning the nomination of Councilor Roach as CPC
appointment was carried by an aye unanimous vote of members present. Councilor
Roach accepted the appointment.
The Common Council announced an executive session to be held Tuesday,
January 14, 1992 at 7:15 p.m, in City Hall for the purpose of narrowing to three the
candidates for appointment to the Zoning Board.
With no further business, Councilor Murray moved for adjournment. This
motion was seconded by Councilor Calbert, was carried by an aye unanimous vote of
members present, and the meeting was adjourned at 7:5 p.m.
