New Fiber Art Exhibit Opens at Leesburg Town Hall Art Gallery
Quilts by CountrySide Quilters Guild Will Be On Display Until April 30, 2010
Leesburg, VA (February 22, 2010) – An exhibit of twenty‐one quilts by the CountrySide Quilters
Guild is currently on display at the Leesburg Town Hall Art Gallery, located at 25 West Market
Street in downtown Leesburg. The exhibition will run until April 30, 2010.
The CountrySide Quilters Guild was established in 1987 to further the fine art and craft of
quilting. The Town Hall exhibit features the work of eleven of the Guild members.
“We asked the Countryside Guild members for quilts to show a wide representation of the
guild’s many projects and skill levels, as Countryside Quilters welcomes all levels of quilters.
We encourage anyone with an interest in fiber and needle arts to come sit, sew and share with
friends as we continue the time honored art of quilting,” explained Kathy Trzeciak, president,
CountrySide Quilters Guild.
The Town Hall Art Gallery was established by the Leesburg Commission on Public Art in
December 2009 to provide a public venue for local artists to display their work. The next
exhibit, opening in May 2010, will feature the work of courtroom artist Bill Hennessy.
Artists interested in having their work considered for a future exhibit in the Town Hall Art
Gallery should contact Anne Geiger, the staff liaison to the Leesburg Commission on Public Art,
at 703‐771‐2742 or ageiger@leesburgva.gov.
