A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA APPROVING RECOM-
MENDATION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY THAT THE ZONE VARIANCE
APPLICATION OF PAUL F. AND VIRGINIA L. UHL
AT 5050 NORTH SERENO DRIVE BE DENIED.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Paul F. and Virginia L. Uhl filed on August 8,
1961, an application for a zone variance, requesting permission
to build a fourth house on less than the required area and hav-
ing an underwidth driveway in an area zoned A -1, and
WHEREAS, on August 21, 1961, after notice duly given pur-
suant to law, a public hearing was held before the Planning
Commission on August 21, 1961, at the hour of 7 :30 p. m., and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission had before it the ap-
plication and plot plan, both of which documents are on file
with the City Clerk, and
WHEREAS, the variance sought as to the area requirement
was fully considered, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission adopted its Resolution
No. 61 -7PC wherein it made the following findings:
"SECTION 1. That there are no exceptional or extra-
ordinary circumstances or conditions applicable to the
property involved, or to the intended use of the proper-
ty, that do not apply generally to the property or class
of use in the same zone or vicinity.
"SECTION 2. That the granting of such variance will
be materially detrimental to the public health and /or
welfare of future residents at 5050 North Sereno Drive,
in that the indicated ingress and egress to the four
dwellings would be inadequate for fire equipment or the
passing of two vehicles.
"SECTION 3. That the property at 5050 Sereno Drive,
if developed with a twenty foot wide driveway according
to regulations, would be approximately 5000 square feet
short of the area requirement for four houses in zone
A -1 in Temple City.
"SECTION 4. That the request for variance is denied
on further ground that there is a possibility of extend-
ing Loma Street north along the easterly line of proper-
ties in the vicinity, thus providing greater development
potential for all properties in the area," and
WHEREAS, the matter was fully considered by the Planning
Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Temple
City does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The recommendation of the Planning Commission
