Johnson Ordinance No. 10-11 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, TO AMEND SECTION 2-316 OF THE CITY CODE TO CHANGE THE AMOUNT THE CITY MANAGER MAY SPEND WITHOUT THE CITY COMMISSION'S APPROVAL; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT AND REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Manager is currently authorized to spend Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00) without the City Commission's approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka believe that it is more efficient to amend the amount and allow the City Manager additional spending authority. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. Section 2-316(8)of the Code of the City of Opa-locka is hereby amended as follows: a. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby increases the amount which the City Manager is authorized to spend without approval by the City Commission from Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00)to Five Thousand Dollars($5000.00),and both references to the amount$3,500.00 in subsection (8) are hereby replaced with $5,000.00. b. Section 2-316 (9), is hereby deleted, and subsections (10) and (11) will be renumbered as (9) and (10). Ordinance No. 10-11 Section 3. REPEALER. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. SEVERABILITY. If any portion,section,phrase or clause of this Ordinance is held invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such ruling shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this Ordinance. Section 5. CODIFICATION. This Ordinance shall be codified in the Code of Ordinances when the code is recodified. Section 6. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall upon adoption, become effective immediately.
