HomeMy Public PortalAbout04/13/74 Special CCM27 The Council of the City of Medine, met in special session at the Wright -Hennepin Building on Saturday, April 13, 1974 at 10:15 A. M. Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk All members present together with some members of the Zoning Committee. Purpose of meeting to interview persons to be hired as part time professional Planners. Interviewed Ray Vi; ola, now planner of Brooklyn Park and he stated his education and experience. :' answered a number of questions, the time he would have to devote to Medina, also estimated cost from $12.00 to $15.00 an hour' Interviewed Martin W. Overhiser, now planner for Plymouth and he stated his education and experience. He answered a number of questions, the time he would have to devote to Medina, also estimated cost from $15.00 to $20.00 an hour. Interviewed Will Hartfeldt as an attorney to work *ith the Planner. He gave his background, education and experience and answered a number of questions. His fee would be $30.00 per hour. The members of the meeting discussed the Planners and Attorney. Moved by Rober# Franklin that the meeting adjourn. Seconded by Thomas Stevens Motion carried. Meeting adjpirmed at 12:50 P.M. L„,. Clerk Mayor The Council of the City of Medina met in special meeting as a Public Hearing with regard to a liquor license suspension because of narcotics on Tuesday, April 16, 1974 at 8:00 P. M. Wayne Neddermeyer Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk All members present Mayor Neddermeyer called the meeting to order and explained its purpose, and then called on the City Attorney, Richard Schieffer. Mr. Schieffer asked a number of questions of Agents Kotaska and Neddermeyer, Agent Neddermeyer gave a detailed report of his visits to the "55 Club", agter which Inspector Anderson answered some questions. George Gubbins, representing Gilbert Pettit, set forth Mr. Pettit"s position and there were very many questions and answers, 28 t I Moved by Robert Franklin to pass Resolution #74-8 vegarding suspension of liquor license of Gilbert Pettit (same attached hereto). After more discussion Robert Franklin withdrew his Resolution. Moved by Robert Franklin to have the Public Hearing continued to 7:45 P. M. Nx17141 May 7, 1974. Seconded by Thomas Stevens Motion carried. Menet Moved by Arthur Theis to have a special meeting on Wednesday, May 8, 1974 at 8 P. M. at the Wright -Hennepin Building to interview persons for the Clerk's position. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. Zoning Moved by Robert Franklin to ha,re the/Administrator ask the County to refer all land divisions to the City. Seconded by Thomas Stevens Motion carried Moved by Robert Franklin that the Council send objections to the Commissioner of Agriculture on proposed shade tree regulations, including objections to full time tree inspec$or; to a tree inventory; to a program of review by the Commissioner and failure to follow the shade tree definition. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried Moved by Thomas Stevens that we allow Ken Krienke to check with the Village Engineer to get a bond to Independence Heights Rd. to specifications within 90 days after posting bond, road to be accepted one year from date of time that it was brought up to specifications.
