Palio Ristorante Italiano Ribbon Cutting
Scheduled for Thursday, March 4, 2010
New Restaurant Opens in Downtown Leesburg
Leesburg, VA (February 25, 2010) – At 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010, Town
officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for Palio Ristorante Italiano, located at 2 West
Market Street in Historic Downtown Leesburg.
Palio Ristorante Italiano, a charming and upscale Italian restaurant, has opened its doors to rave
reviews. Under the direction of proprietor Antonio Pino, known as “Nino” to his friends and
patrons, Palio offers a new dining experience. Chef Joe Cicala brings his trained eye for detail
to Palio after working for many years in various kitchens in Italy, New York, and Washington,
D.C.
Palio blends familiar Italian favorites with a modern cuisine featuring seasonal local items such as
venison, lamb, wild salmon, and a varied Virginia harvest. While highlighting Nino’s chosen
Italian “vino”, the wine list will include local Virginia and California selections as well. All bread,
pasta, and charcuterie will be made fresh in-house, and Chef Cicala will offer various menu
additions daily.
Palio’s equestrian theme derives from the infamous, centuries-old Palio di Siena horse race
which began in the mid-17th century. The restaurant seats 65 upstairs and boasts a 24-seat full-
service lounge at street level. The historic building has been tastefully redesigned to provide an
exceptional experience, and the work of local artists adds to the ambiance. Italian marble,
upscale lighting, and just the right music all ensure a meal to remember.
Offering excellent food, wine, music, classic service and good company, Palio Ristorante
Italiano, is “off and running”!
