This ordinance authorizes the District to enter into Amendment No. 6 to Contract #10591 with The Sterling Company. This
project originally consisted of the design and preparation of construction documents for approximately 3,845 feet of 8-inch
to 12-inch diameter sanitary sewers and appurtenances. This project was to provide for the elimination of one pump station
and alleviate basement backups for approximately 49 properties. The revised construction cost estimate for this project is
$2,000,000.00. The amended design appropriation is $740,000.
FUNDING/COST SUMMARY:
Budgeted: Capital Improvement Program Budget Year: FY2021, Pg. 64 Amount: $250,000
Fund Name: #6660 – Sanitary Replacement Fund
Additional Comments: The appropriation for design services is $50,000 below the proposed funding presented in the CIP
Budget Supplement. Contract Amendment No. 5 was for the re-design of a new sanitary pump station, 1,800 lineal feet of
6-inch force main, 2,240 lineal feet of 8-inch to 12-inch diameter sanitary sewers and appurtenances. This project required
re-design after construction bids came in much higher than anticipated. This project amendment is for the design of
approximately 935 lineal feet of additional 12-inch diameter sanitary sewers within the immediate project area to alleviate

basement backups. The appropriation includes $5,406 in contingencies and $88,000 for construction phase services.
Construction phase services include construction field surveys, review of shop drawings and submittals, responding to
design questions and changes during construction, as-built surveys, and preparation of as-built record drawings. This
project is expected to be funded by Bond proceeds.
