HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolutions-2011-59 (3)CITY OF TIFFIN RESOLUTION 2011 -59 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN INTERIM CITY CLERK AND TREASURER FOR THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA WHEREAS, the current appointed City Clerk and Treasurer, Ruth Demuth, has submitted their resignation effective December 31, 2011 and the City Council accepts this resignation. WHEREAS, the City Council understands the need to fill this vacancy to allow the transition of duties starting January 1, 2012 so necessary functions for the City can be continued. WHEREAS, the City Council desires to fill these functions for a temporary interim period until such time that the City Council so chooses to change the functions of the positions. THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED, the City Council is appointing Adelia Madden, to the interim temporary position of City Clerk and Treasurer, starting on January 1, 2012, as per detailed in the Code of Ordinances Chapters 18 and 19, in accordance to Code of Iowa, Section 372.13, 380.7, and 362.3. Therefore, the compensation is approved at the amount of current amount at $14.00 per hour, established as per Code of Iowa, Section 372.13. City Council will consider re- setting compensation at time of re- appointment at regular January 2012 meeting. On this 14th day of December 2011 at a regular meeting of Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Council person Travis Weipert introduced RESOLUTION 2011 -59 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN INTERIM CITY CLERK AND TREASURER FOR THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA and made a motion for approval. The motion was seconded by Council person Chris Ball. AYES: Chris Ball, Jim Bartels, Travis Weipert NAYS: None ABSENT: Mike Gericke, Mark Petersen WHEREUPON, with three votes for approval, Mayor Phillips declared that Resolution 2011 -59 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN INTERIM CITY CLERK AND TREASURER FOR THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto. est t6 Ruth Demuth, City Clerk Passed, and approved thisl4th day of December 2011.
