Business
Airport Manager update:
Geoffrey Rowe gave an update on future hangar improvements. The hangar will be
insulated with a foam material, which should reduce heating cost. He also gave an update
on the future Idaho Airport Management Association Conference at Sun Valley.
Andrew Findlay's request to hold the annual Snowcross race on the airport:
The Airport Manager gave a brief background on the request. Andrew Findlay then
addressed the AAC and explained the event and requested the AAC approve the use of the
infield area known as the "triangle" to hold the event. The AAC discussed safety, liability,
and crowd control issues with Mr. Findlay and the Airport Manager. Rick Fereday wanted to
know if the Club could use the park next to the river. Mr. Findlay and Mrs. Titus explained
that the parking and preparation work required would be too great. The Club would like to
find a permanent home for the event instead of moving every year. All the issues were
addressed to the AAC's satisfaction. The McCall Snowmobile club will be responsible to
provide all crowd control and proof of liability prior to the event. The Airport manager will
monitor the event. It will be hosted on a weekend in February. The FAA will also be
advised of the event.
Action: Rick Fereday made a motion to approve the request for the year only and see how
the event goes. If it works out that the airport is compatible with the event than the Club can
request to use it in the future. Merrill Saleen seconded the motion.
Adiournment
Merrill Saleen moved to adjourn the meeting. Rick Fereday seconded and the motion
carried unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 12:50 PM.
