ORDINANCE NO. 11-02
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA
AMENDING SECTION 2-570.12(C) OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA
CODE OF ORDINANCES BY PROVIDING FOR SUPERVISION AND
OVERSIGHT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT THROUGH THE
BUILDING AND LICENSING DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT
AND REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION AND
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS,Code Enforcement is presently administered through the Department
of Planning and Community Development; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, believes it would be
advisable and more efficient to have Code Enforcement administered through the Building
and Licensing Department.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA:
Section 1 The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. Section 2-570.12(c) is hereby amended in the following particulars:
"Sec. 2-570.12 (c) Duties of the City Manager.
(c) The City Manager, through the Building and Licensing
Department, shall be responsible for the supervision and
oversight of code enforcement for the City. (Ord. No. 95-2, §1,
2-8-95; Ord. No. 05-10, §2, 6-22-050")
ORDINANCE NO. 11-02
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
Section 4. If any section, sentence, phrase or clause of this Ordinance is held
invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, then said holding in now
affects the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be codified in the Code of Ordinances when the
code is recodified.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall upon adoption, become effective immediately.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23`d day of March, 2011.
