HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-03 Amending the Fees for the Landlord Permit Program 1st Reading: February 23, 2011 2nd Reading: March 23, 2011 Public Hearing: March 23, 2011 Adopted: March 23, 2011 Effective Date: March 23, 2011 Sponsor: City Manager ORDINANCE NO. 11-03 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA CLARIFYING AND AMENDING THE FEES FOR THE LANDLORD PERMIT PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT AND REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION AND SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka desires to clarify and amend the fees per dwelling units for the Landlord Permit Program; and WHEREAS, Ordinance 06-14 and Ordinance 07-14 were silent on the cost per dwelling unit; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 07-14, an amended fee structure was established: $70 for Initial Inspection; $45 for Permit Renewal; and $25 for Re- inspection; and WHEREAS, this Ordinance will amend the current initial fee of$70, to a $75 per dwelling unit fee. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida hereby amends and clarify Section 13-277 in the following particulars: ORDINANCE NO. 11-03 Fee to be charged for the purpose of administering this article shall be established as set forth herein. (1) The Building and Licensing Department shall collect all fees due and owing to the City as follows: (a) Permit Fee Per Dwelling Unit - $75.00 (b) Renewal of Permit - $45.00 (c) Re-inspection - $25.00 Section 3. All ordinances or resolutions or parts of ordinances or resolutions in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. Section 4. If any portion, section, phrase or clause of this Ordinance is held invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such ruling shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this Ordinance. Section 5. This Ordinance shall be codified in the Code of Ordinances when the code is recodified. Section 6. This Ordinance shall upon adoption, become effective immediately.
