AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 22 OF THE MiNICIPAL CODE, BEING ORDINANCE No.
2325-1968, COMMNLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,
INDLANA ADOPTED JUNE 3, 1968, PROVIDING FOR THE REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 1400 EAST MAIN STREET FROM R-4 TRITI-FAMILY RESIDENCE TO C-2 COMb1i)NITY
BUSINESS DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Zoning Map which is part of Ordinance No. 2325-1968 designates
and describes as R-4 Multi -Family Residence District, the property
located at 140.0 East Main Street in the City of Ri.clmnd, Indiana;
and,
WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning classifica-
tion of property located 140.0 East Main Street from R-4 Multi -Family
Residence to C-2 Corm unity Business District; and,
NHEREA.S, a study of this Ordinance was condo! by the Richmnd City Plan
Commission the o?A o" day of \ c� 1979, at
which time remonstrances were heard rtom all parties interested
in or affected by this Ordinance.
WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmnd City Plan. Commission was to O
in favor of/" recommending the passage o OOrdinance
No. 117-1979.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana as follows:
SECTION 1. It is hereby ordained that the zoning classification of the pro-
perty described below be, and the same is hereby changed to C-2
Coumuum_ity Business District, and that said property be regulated in
accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
and all amendments thereto.
The North half of the following described real estate,
to -wit: The West halves of Lots Nunbered 508 and 509
in that part of the City of Richnon.d laid out by
Elizabeth Starr.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval as by law required.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, this

Dear Mr. Paust, Members of Cannon Council & Vxs. Trimble:
The Richmond City Plan Commission met Tuesday, January 22, 1980,
to hear the petition of Wells Investments, Inc. requesting change
of zoning for the property located at 1400 East Main Street from
the present R-4 Multi -Family Residence District to C-2 Community
Business District.
Mr. Marlin McDaniel, Attorney, appeared in behalf of the peti-
tioner and no one spoke in opposition to the request at the public
hearing.
The request for rezoning is a logical continuation of an existing
C-2 zoning district, and the land use of the block in which the
subject property is located is predominately commercial.
Therefore, the Plan Commission voted eight (8) to zero (0) to
recommend that Ordinance No. 117-1979 be approved.
