Plainfield Fest Carnival Ride Accident
Plainfield, IL – On Thursday, July 18, 2019 at approximately 6:00 PM, Plainfield Police and Plainfield Fire
Department Personnel observed a malfunction on a small roller coaster ride and a woman fall from the ride at the
Plainfield Fest Carnival.
Officers observed the Iron Dragon Carnival ride to have a broken track and the rear car of the ride off the track.
Plainfield Fire Department transported one adult female for minor injuries who fell from the ride. All other riders
were removed from the ride by Plainfield Fire Personnel. No other injuries were reported. Illinois Department of
Labor, Amusement Ride and Attraction Safety Division was contacted and responded to the scene and is currently
investigating the incident.
