Webb, Town Manager and Mary, Wetterer, Te m Clerk: The minutes of the previous meeting of July 26, 1949 were read and approved. t Mr. Webb explained to -the council that Et ?mould be advantageous to the village to ,enter into a ten year °entreat with Florida Power and Light Company for our street lighting. FLORIDA, OF ALL PuEITRICAL ENERGY AND srmlors, NECESSARY FOR'THE OPERATION OF THE STRtit: ioST- ING SYSTEM WITHIN'THE CORPORATE LIMITS OP THE TOWN OF.HAL HARBOUR VILLAGE, FLORIDA, AND 4444 TIN,P3RTH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH 'THE.FOREGOING SNP, BE EFPECTED:AUTHORIZING. AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND THE TORN GLERX OF. ... AND OM MAU OF THE TOWN OF BAL HARBOUR VILLAGE TO EXECUTE AND ENTER INTO SAID MUNICIPAL STREET LIGHTING AGREEMENT WITH FLORIDA POWER AND 2IGHT COMPANY." At the request of the town manager, the council approved the transfer of #200.00 from 4906-Ci0 (Maintenance of Parks) in the present budget:to 4903-C1 (Gasoline) in the budget covering the Police Department and on motion of Mr. Bonneau, seconded by Mr. Simons the transfer was ordered. Mr. Webb read to the council a letter from the.Florlda.State Fire College commending Chief Hale for his recent attendance at the College. Mr. Southerland explained that although we were not able to include this expense in the budget Chief Hale had attended this course at his own expense. SEPTEMBER 23, 4949 On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting, adjourned. OCTOBER 17, 1949 The Council of Bel Harbour Village' net at the. Village Offices in Ba1 Harbour at 7:45 P. M., Monday, bctober 17, 1949. There were presents Messrs. Bonneau, Simons, Southerland, and Whittaker. Absent: Mr. Graham, Jr. Also present were Mr. W. H. Mr. Southerland explained the hew Cigarette Tax Law to the council and on motion of Mr. Whittaker, seconded by Mr. Simons, Ordinance419 entitled: t Ordinance #19 °AN ORDINANCE:LEVYING AND IMPOSING-AN.EXCISE OR PRIVILEGE TAX UPON THE SALE,,kECEIPT, PURCHASE, POSSESSION, CONSUMPTION, HANDLING, DISTRIBUTION, AND USE OF CIGARETTES IN BAL HARBOUR VILLAGE, FLORIDA;. PROVIDING FOR. THE METHOD,OF COLLECTION; PROVIDING FOR THE EXPEND.ITURE OE' THE E'UNDS DERIVED THEREI ; PROVIDING FOR THE EMOTIVE DATE THEREOF." • was unanimously approved and passed. t Mr. Webb explained that it would be more convenient.to have the Council Meetings later'in the month because of auditing conditionsg OCTOBER 17. 1949
