HomeMy Public PortalAbout3175-1977- ORDINANCE NO 2325-1968 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCEORDINANCE NO. 3175-1977 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2325-1.968 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, ADOPTED JUNE 3, 1968. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, the Zoning Map which is a part of Ordinance No. 2325-1968, designates and describes as C-1 Neighborhood Business, the following properties: 1. 510, 514, 520 West Main Street 2. 30 N. W. 5th Street TRACT "A" - 510 W. Main Street 77 feet off entire west end of Lot 1, Knollwood Addition to the City of Richmond, Indiana, EXCEPT 9 feet off the entire west end thereof. Also, Lot 2 of Knollwood Addition, EXCEPT 100 feet off the entire east side of Lot 2, ALSO, EXCEPT a triangular shaped tract off the entire west end of Lot 2, having an east -west dimension of 9 feet, Also, Lot 4, Knollwood Addition, EXCEPT 9 feet off the entire west side of said lot. Area - 68 x 170.82 = 11,615.76 SF = 0.266 Acres. TRACT "B" - 514 W. Main Street Lot 5 of Knollwood Addition to the City of Richmond, Indiana; also 9 feet off the entire west sides of Lots 1, 2, & 4 of said Addition. Area - 88.83 x 170.22 = 15,120.64 SF = 0.347 Acres. TRACT "C" - 520 West Main Street Lots 6 & 7 of Knollwood Addition to the City of Richmond, Indiana. Area - 95 x 170.22 = 16,170.9 SF = 0.371 Acres. TRACT "D" - 30 N. W. 5th Street 73.78 feet off the entire south side of Parcel O,M. 579 of the Official Map of the City of Richmond, Indiana, Area - 73.78 x 351,65 = 25,944.74 SF = 0.595 Acres, TOTAL AREA TRACTS A, B, C & D + 1.579 ACRES. SECTION 2. WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning classification of the above described area from C-1 Neighborhood Business District to R-4 Multi -Family Residential District, and, SECTION 3. WHEREAS, study of this Ordinance w s conducted by the Richmond City Plan Commission the a` day of 1977, at which time remonstrances were heard from all parties"'interesteid in or affected by this Ordinance. SECTION 4. WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was to C in favor of/' recommending the passage of Ordinance No. 3175-1977. Ordinance No. 3175-1977 (Continued) NOW THEREFORE: SECTION 5. It is hereby ordained that the zoning classification of the above described property be, and the same is hereby changed to R-4 Multi - Family Residential District, and that said property be regulated in accord- ance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and all amendments thereto. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as by law required. SECTION 7. The original zoning classification of the aforementioned area is hereby rescinded and the zoning classification of this area will be in accordance with Section 2 of this Ordinance. Crum, 411 South 27th; Agent Dale L. Jacobs, petitioning to rezone property located at 510, 514, 520 West Main Street and 30 N.W. 5th Street, from C-1 to R-4 for a proposed 104 unit high-rise residential apartment building for the elderly Dear Mr. Carter, Members of the Council & Mrs. Trimble: The Richmond City Plan Commission held a public hearing on Tuesday, January 25, 1977, to hear the request of Hodgin Realty, Inc., and Walter A. Crum to rezone certain property at 510, 514, 520 West Main Street and 30 N.W. 5th Street from C-1 neighborhood business to R-4 multi -family residential. All parties interested or affected by this petition were heard. The Plan Commission voted seven (7) to zero (0) to recommend approval of this petition to Common Council.
