MOTION 2012 -004
I move to add the following to the Town's 2012 Legislative Positions Statement:
Equalizing City and County taxing authority.
The Town Council supports legislation that would grant counties the same taxing
authority as cities. Granting Loudoun County the authority to enact a meals tax
or a cigarette tax could reduce the burden on residential real estate taxes which
are paid by town residents, who are also county residents, as well as other county
residents.
