Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission May 3,2000
A regular meeting of the Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission was brought to order by Chair Dan
O'Halloran. Members present: Steve Berner,Dan O'Halloran,Tina Walls,Melvin Reeve and Terry
Richardson. Absent: None. Also present:Mayor Glenn Potter,Councilmember Jim Bartels,
Councilmember Karin Dils,Mr.and Mrs.Ed Cole,Jerry Strawn,Joe Johnston and Vic Zender.
Motion Berner,second Walls to approve printed minutes. Ayes: Berner,O'Halloran,Walls,Reeve and
Richardson. Motion carried.
A Public Hearing was opened at 6:31 p.m.by Chair Dan O'Halloran to consider a replatting/amendment c;
request from Joe Johnston for the Johnston Potterfield Subdivision. Mr.Joe Johnston was present and
indicated that changes requested by Hart Engineering had been agreed to and made in the platting. No
other citizens were present to speak either in favor of or against said proposal. No written comments have
been received by the city. Public Hearing was adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
Regular Session of the Tiffin Planning and Zoning was reconvened at 6:34 p.m.by Chairperson Dan Ii {
O'Halloran.
Motion Berner,second Walls to recommend approval of a Request S2000-04-03-100 from Joseph C.
Johnston for Replatting/Amending of Johnston-Potterfield Subdivision located NE''A Section 28-80-7
submitted by Landmark Surveying and Engineering of Iowa City. Ayes: Walls,Berner,Reeve,
Richardson and O'Halloran. Motion carried.
A Public Hearing is set for 6:30 p.m.,May 10,2000 at the Tiffin City Fire Station to consider a Platting
request from Ed Cole and Tom Lawarence(C&L)for Rolling Hills Subdivision.
Motion Berner,second Reeve to recommend approval of a Rolling Hills Subdivision preliminary plat
received from C&L,Ed Cole and Tom Lawrence including R-1 zoining in 116 lots and and additional R-2
zoning with changes noted including Greoll Blvd name change to Greoll Avenue,easement noted on Lot
42 for 10 foot trailway with any additional work easements needed and walk/trails shown in plat
connecting entire plat and report from engineer on pond data,and subject to final written review from city
engineer. Ayes: O'Halloana,Walls,Reeve,Richardson,and Berner. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Motion Richardson, second Walls to approve recommendation of adoption of a ordinance amendment to
the zoning ordinance to include a new zone 2.5(light multiple housing zone.)Ayes: Berner,Walls,
Richardson,O'Halloran,and Reeve. Motion carried. •
No action on tree ordinance for further study.
No action in annexation matters. '
Motion Walls,second Berner to adjourn. Motion carried 7:25 p.m.
