RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -28
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ADDITION OF A LIQUOR PERMIT TO THE ALCOHOL
PERMIT FOR CASEY'S GENERAL STORE #2667 LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
OF TIFFIN, IOWA
Whereas, House File 617 Signed by Governor on March 30, 2011, now allows Class E liquor control
licenses to be issued for premises where gasoline is sold, such as convenience stores. The Bill
eliminates the requirement that convenience stores that sell gasoline have a separate walled -off room
for liquor sales becomes effective July 1, 2011. Sales are for off premise consumption.
Whereas CASEY'S GENERAL STORE #2667, now carries an Alcohol Permit for Class C Beer, Class
B Wine (Carryout Wine) and Sunday Sales. Kum & Go has now applied for application for the Class E
Liquor Sales.
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa has reviewed and will determine the addition of a
Liquor Permit to the current Alcohol License requested by the business establishment known as
"CASEY'S GENERAL STORE #2667" located within the city limits of Tiffin, Iowa.
Whereas, the City Council has not discovered any reason to deny the addition of the Liquor Permit to
the Alcohol Permit for "CASEY'S GENERAL STORE #2667 ". City Council directs the City Clerk to
submit for local authority, approval of permit to the State of Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division.
On the 13th day of July 2011, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa.
Councilperson Travis Weipert made a motion for Resolution 2011 -28 A RESOLUTION
APPROVING THE ADDITION OF A LIQUOR PERMIT TO THE ALCOHOL LICENSE FOR
CASEY'S GENERAL STORE #2667 LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF TIFFIN, IOWA for
approval. Seconded by Council person Chris Ball.
Ayes: Chris Ball, Jim Bartels, Travis Weipert
Nays: None
Absent: Mike Gericke, Mark Petersen
WHEREUPON, with three votes for approval, Mayor Royce Phillips declared that the Resolution
2011 -28 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ADDITION OF A LIQUOR PERMIT TO THE
ALCOHOL LICENSE FOR CASEY'S GENERAL STORE #2667 LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY
LIMITS OF TIFFIN, IOWA be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his
signature thereto.
Passed and approved this 13 th day of July, 2011.
