AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA,TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER
TO RENEW A THREE(3)YEAR CONTRACT WITH SOFTWARE
HOUSE INTERNATIONAL(SHI)FOR MICROSOFT ENTERPRISE
LICENSING,APPLICABLE TO MICROSOFT OFFICE,DESKTOP
AND SERVER OPERATING SYSTEM, EXCHANGE AND SQL
SERVER AT A YEARLY COST OF EIGHTEEN THOUSAND
THREE HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS ($18,320.00), PAYABLE
FROM ACCOUNT NO. 14-512528; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT
AND REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Microsoft Volume License (MVL) provides the City with a variety of
resources,in addition to the base licensing with Windows Operating Systems,including 24/7 phone
technical support,training on the latest Microsoft products,early release of software,and access to
Microsoft MSDN network;and
WHEREAS,the City of Opa-locka uses Microsoft products on all its servers,desktops and
laptops.and office products; and
WHEREAS, Software House International (SHI) hold the State of Florida contract for
Microsoft licensing(Contract No. 225-001-01-1)on, which the City can piggyback;and
WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to renew a three(3)year
contract with Software House International (SHI) for Microsoft Enterprise Licensing at a cost of
Eighteen Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Dollars($18,320.00)per year.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section Z. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby authorizes the.City
Manner to renew with Software House International(S HI)for a three(3)year contract of Microsoft
Enterprise Licensing, applicable to Microsoft Office, Desktop and Server Operating System,
Exchange And SQL Server at a cost of Eighteen Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Dollars
(S18,320.00), per year,payable from Account No. 14-512528.
Section 3 All ordinances or Code provisions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. Lf any section,subsection,sentence,clause,phrase or portion of this Ordinance
is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction,such portion
shall be deemed a separate,distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall,upon adoption,become effective as specified by the City
of Opa-locka Code of Ordinances and the City of Opa-locka Charter.
