Falkoff, Councilor At Large WHEREAS, questions have been raised regarding the composition, duties and Anthony r At Large responsibilities of the Traffic Commission; and Councilor At Large p � Angeline B.0 Kouneuncilolis, WHEREAS changes were proposed to modify the Code of Ordinances of the Town of District A Councilor � g p p Y Cecilia Lenk, Watertown, Title VII Chapter 70—Traffic Commission,which were last amended by District B Councilor Ordinance 0-2001-15; Vincent J. Piccirilli,Jr., District C Councilor NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, that the Town Council of the City known as John J.Lawn,Jr., the Town of Watertown does hereby amend the Watertown Ordinances by revising Title District D Councilor VII Chapter 70 as follows: Title VII Chanter 70 Section 2(E)—Membership (0-2001-15 Section 2) Delete"Superintendent of Wires" and replace with"Director of Community Development and Planning or his or her designee" Title VII Chanter 70 Section 5 - Duties and Responsibilities (0-2001-15 Section 6) Delete the existing section, and replace it in its entirety with the following: "The Traffic Commission shall suggest and advise the Town Manager in ways and means to regulate traffic in the Town with a view towards reducing accidents, relieving traffic congestion and increasing safety for cars and alternative modes of transportation. The Commission shall study and make recommendations on road design projects and any proposed addition or deletion of crosswalks, stop signs, traffic signals, signage,parking meters, or parking spaces; and on any proposed traffic calming measures or traffic directional changes." This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon passage. Council Member I hereby certify that at a regular meeting of the Town Council for which a quorum was present, the above Ordinance was adopted by unanimous roll call vote on May 24, 2011.
