Dear Chairman Homberger:
On behalf of the Town Council, I would like to thank you and your board members for allowing the
Leesburg delegation to participate in your quarterly meeting with the Loudoun County Board of
Supervisors last Thursday afternoon. The Town Council remains interested in exploring a potential
partnership that could relocate the current Catoctin Skate Park to the Douglass School site.
The Town understands that there are several critical issues that should be resolved before further
exploration of a potential partnership is pursued either in the near term or the long term.In the short term,
the most critical issue to the Town is the decision making and development timetable for a new skate
park. As part of the recently approved Fiscal Year 2016 budget, the Council appropriated $544,800 to
renovate the existing skate park.
In order for Town Council to better understand our options, I respectfully request the official position of
the Loudoun County School Board on the following questions:
1. Is the School Board willing to permit the relocation of the skate park to the Douglass School site
while the alternative school is still in use?
2. If so,what is the approval process,and what is the likely timeline we should anticipate?

any questions,or would like us to attend any of your upcoming meetings to share additional information,
please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to your official response,and request this information
