HomeMy Public PortalAbout1949-11-28 Meetingand upon motion of Mr: Simons,:seconded by Mr. Bonnefu, it was voted .that the regular meetings of the Council will be at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on the third Monday of each month. The councilmen present were then given their salary of $1.00 each for the past year. There being no further business before the meeting on motion duly made, seconded and carried the meeting adjourned. NovEn 284 1949 The Council of Bal Harbour Pillage net•at the Administration" Building,, Monday, November 2$th, at B:OO o'clock P. M. There were present: Messrs. Grahem, Jr., Simons., Southerland. Absents Messrs. Bonnea4 -Jr. and Whittaker,. Also present were Mr. 14. H. Wetterer, Town Clerk, The minutes of the previous read and approved. Webb, Town Manager and Mary meeting of October 17, 1949 were Applications.by Gunnar Lind and Fincher Motor Sales Por renewal of Taxi Permits were submitted: Discussion followed ou`the adviseability of having both metered and unmetered service in the village. After consideration it Was,deeided that it view of the fact that no serious complaints had been 'received it would be desitable to continue to license both types of 'service. Applications by Morse Motors and Fincher'Motor Sales for D-Drive-It Permits were also submitted end on motion of Mr. Graham, seconded by Mr. Simons, the applications for both Taxi Permits and II -Drive -It licenses were approved. The eouncilmep, town manager and clerk then.took.the anti communistic eath as provided by the law enacted at the laet session NOVEMBER 28..-.1949 of the Florida Legislature. kr. Webb asked that $250.00 be transferred from Surplus to account 5005—B17 to cover the cost of pipe and catch basin built on collins.Avenue. 0n motion oP Mr.,Sieons, _seconded by Mr. Graham, the funds were ordered transferred as requested. . Mr. Webb presented to the council a letter from Mr. J. A. Lummus,, Jr..stating that.municipalities,could have the county tax assessor and the county tax collector .act as Assessor and Collector for their,: taxes. After discussion it was the unanimous decision of the council that it would not be to the advantage of Bai Harbour Village to accept the offer of Mr. Lummus and that he be so advised with an expression of our appreciation for his offer to help. The council then considered the'annual report of the village operation.for the period ate ing September 30, 1949. On motion duly made, seconded and carried the report,wss.approved. There being no further business. before themeeting on motion - of Mr. Simons, seconded by Mr. Graham, the meeting was adjourned.
