RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY GRANTING A ZONE VARIANCE TO
THE TEMPLE CITY CHRISTIAN CHURCH TO CON-
STRUCT TWO LIGHTED SIGNS IN R -1 ZONE AT
5723 GARIBALDI, TEMPLE CITY, SUBJECT TO
CERTAIN CONDITIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the Temple City Christian Church, hereinafter re-
ferred to as Applicant, filed on or about March 12, 1962, an applica-
tion for a zone variance, requesting a variance on their property lo-
cated at 9723 Garibaldi, Temple City, to construct thereon two lighted
6 x 5 signs to be used for church purposes, and
WHEREAS, the real property located at 9723 Garibaldi, Temple
City, is presently zoned R -1 and the requested variance is for C -2
use, and
WHEREAS, on April 2, 1962, after notice duly given pursuant
to law, the Planning Commission held a public hearing upon, and duly
deliberated on, the merits of the application for zone variance, and
WHEREAS, on April 16, 1962, the Planning Commission did by
its Resolution No. 62 -15PC recommend the granting of the zone variance
as requested, subject to certain conditions,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City
Does Resolve as Follows:
SECTION 1. The granting of the variance requested by the
applicant to permit a C -2 use upon the subject real property which is
now zoned R -1 will not be detrimental to the public health, general
welfare and convenience of the community and will not be injurious
to the property in the same vicinity.
SECTION 2. The City Council does hereby grant the variance
as requested in zone case 62 -15PC subject to the following conditions:
(a) That the signs requested be constructed in accordance
with the application on file with the case; that in particular the
two signs be of no greater size than six (6) feet by five (5) feet
and set back from the streets as shown on the plot plan.
(b) That the variance herein granted shall not be effective
for any purpose until the owner of the property involved has filed
with the City Clerk of Temple City its affidavit stating that it is
aware of and accepts all of the conditions of the variance as granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of May, 1962.
