Board of Adjustment
7 p.m. Sept. 9, 2020
Present:
Board of Adjustment — Chair Bill Harris, Vice Chair Sean Kehoe, David Remington, Jenn Sykes and Dustin Williams
Staff —Senior Planner Tom King
Guests — none
1. Call to order and confirmation of quorum
Chair Bill Harris called the remote/virtual meeting to order at 7:01 p.m, called the roll and confirmed a quorum with
five members present.
2. Agenda changes and approval
There were no changes.
3. Minutes review and approval
Minutes from the regular meeting on August 12, 2020
Member David Remington questioned the spelling of "lite" when used in several of the last paragraphs on page 3
when discussing the 330 West King Street appeal. Member Jenn Sykes confirmed the spelling was technically correct
when discussing windowpanes in a historic setting.
Motion: Remington moved approval of the minutes. Member Dustin Williams seconded.
Vote: 5-0. Ayes: Harris, Vice Chair Sean Kehoe, Remington, Sykes and Williams
4. Hearings in the nature of certiorari
Harris confirmed there were no such hearings on the agenda. Senior Planner Tom King confirmed.
S. Quasi-judicial evidentiary hearings
Harris confirmed there were no such hearings on the agenda. King confimed.
6. Other business
a. Review of Final Decision Order relative to Case #BA -01-2020 (330 West King Street Appeal) decided at the August
12, 2020 meeting
Harris asked if all members had had an opportunity to review the order and if there were any changes. King stated
that both attorneys involved in the case had reviewed the order. No changes were presented. Harris asked for a
motion.
Motion: Sykes moved approval of the order as written. Remington seconded.

b. Review of Resolution of Approval relative to Case #BA -02-2020 (Conditional Use Permit for the Alhamd Auto Trade
(AAT)) project approved at the August 12, 2020 meeting
Harris asked if all members had had an opportunity to review the order and if there were any changes. Hearing none,
Harris asked for a motion.
Motion: Williams moved approval of the resolution as written. Sykes seconded.
Vote: 5-0. Ayes: Harris, Kehoe, Remington, Sykes and Williams. Nays: None.
7. Committee and staff reports
King and Sykes gave brief updates. As this may be Remington's last board meeting depending on upcoming action by
the Orange County Board of Commissioners on appointing his (Remington's) replacement, Harris expressed his
appreciation of Remington's service and leadership on the board.
8. Adjournment
Motion: Kehoe moved to adjourn at 7:20 p.m.
Vote: 5-0. Ayes: Harris, Kehoe, Remington, Sykes and Williams. Nays: None.
